Often the foundation in the form of a whole slab is used where clay or peat soils prevail. This type of foundation is poured under the entire area of the house. Often it is called as a “floating foundation”, since with seasonal soil fluctuations a house made of aerated concrete with your own hands is slightly able to move. The construction of a slab foundation can be carried out in several ways:
one. They dig a pit over the entire area of the house, then tamp the soil at the bottom and the formwork is installed around the perimeter. After that, the “pillow” is prepared in several layers of crushed stone, gravel and sand, each of which is poured 10-20 cm, tamped, and watered from time to time with water.
Then lay waterproofing and poured with a small layer of concrete. For reliability and strengthening of plates, the reinforcing grid is also laid, after which it is filled with concrete until a certain thickness is obtained.
2. The foundation from a whole slab is often combined with a strip foundation, from which they get a basement or basement.
In this case, the plate performs the function of both the foundation and surface of the floor in the basement. To do this, they also dig a pit, but already much deeper, after pouring a concrete slab and waterproof. As soon as the concrete slab froze, the formwork is raised under the load -bearing walls and the strip foundation is poured to the very top of the pit.
3. There is also the easiest option – this is the acquisition of ready -made reinforced concrete slabs that will significantly reduce the working process.
By the way, experts do not recommend erecting a slab foundation in areas with a large slope in order to avoid troubles.
